OOTD: Black & Maroon Pairing

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

I am so tired recently! I keep going to bed way later than I should, and then can't fall asleep! It's having serious effects on my skin - I noticed wrinkling under my eyes this morning! And I'm not even 20 yet!! Definitely shows the importance of keeping hydrated and getting a good night's sleep. Just like Mum tells you.

Being touristy in Wellington

Even though I've lived in Wellington for about a year and a half now, I don't often go around doing all the touristy things because they're just there all the time - despite never actually having done many of them!

About two weeks ago, I had a visit from someone super special, my boyfriend! He lives in Auckland most of the time but had come for a bit of tour around Wellington. We spent an entire day just wandering around from place to place, stopping only to eat (of course!)

Cosy casuals: jeans and knit sweater

Unfortunately the lighting isn't great. However, there was not much success to be had outside! (see below)
Scarf: Farmers; Jumper: Glassons (size 6); Jeans: Huffer (size 6); Boots: Rieker (36).
Knit jumpers are very cosy and versatile. This black/grey version can be worn with almost any other colour. However, I am a bit of a weakling and tend to wear knit jumpers as tops rather than as... jumpers? I always need to have an extra layer as I don't find them warm enough to wear alone. But maybe that's just me.

Boots: These boots were purchased online last year (can be found here)Although they may not be the most fashionable boots, they are amazingly comfortable. They are fleece lined (keeping feet toasty warm), leather, with a round toe (for comfort), and have quite a slim ankle. They are also from the Rieker anti-stress line, which means they are designed to have soft, flexible, shock absorbing soles. The Rieker name also guarantees good quality.

The only downside to these boots that I have found (although possibly an issue with most ankle height boots), is that they can be hard to wear with jeans that have zips on them. About three of my pairs of jeans have zips either on the inside or the outside leg, which is great for making them slimmer around the ankle, but it means when worn with these boots, the zip from the boots rubs against them. Normally I can avoid this problem by twisting the jeans around a bit, but it is still a little irritating. I would not recommend these boots to those with larger ankles.

Cosy autumn: A more 'art student' look

When I came out dressed like this my flatmate remarked that I no longer looked like a law student, but more like an arts student. Either way, I think this is a cute look that suits the autumn/winter weather, in tones and in warmth!
